Strategy Overview: The Geometry of SKD Shipping
Target Audience: Importers, dealership technicians, and procurement managers hesitant to switch to high-density shipping due to assembly concerns.
Core Challenge: "Knocked Down" sounds intimidating. Buyers fear that to save on ocean freight, they will receive a box of 10,000 loose screws, voided warranties, and require a team of master mechanics to rebuild the vehicles.
Keldi Solution: SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) is a structural geometry solution, not a mechanical teardown. We only remove the non-technical superstructure to eliminate empty air, leaving the entire powertrain and electrical core 100% factory-sealed.
Result / ROI: Dealerships secure maximum container density (up to 24 units per 40HQ) while maintaining a rapid, bolt-on-only reassembly process that requires zero electrical splicing or specialized tools.
In the commercial buggy industry, there is a lingering misconception that importing via SKD means you are buying a DIY kit. Dealership owners often ask: "Will my mechanics have to wire the dashboard? Do we need to calibrate the motor?"
The answer is an absolute No.
To maximize container space and reduce your Landed Cost, Keldi's engineering team focuses exclusively on vertical compression. We are removing the "air" from the shipment, not the engineering. Here is the transparent breakdown of exactly what stays untouched and what is temporarily decoupled for transit.
When your Keldi buggy is rolled off the production line, it is a fully functioning, quality-tested vehicle. During the SKD packing process, the most critical, labor-intensive, and technically sensitive components are never touched.
When you uncrate the steel frame, the following systems remain fully integrated:
The Complete Powertrain: The 48V AC motor, the heavy-duty transaxle, and the entire drivetrain remain permanently bolted and torqued to factory specifications.
The Rolling Chassis & Suspension: The automotive ladder-style steel frame, leaf springs, shocks, wheel hubs, and brake lines are fully intact.
The Electrical Brain: The Tier-1 controller, the lithium or lead-acid battery banks, and the onboard high-frequency charger remain securely mounted and pre-wired.
The Dashboard & Primary Harness: The steering column, digital displays, and the entire vehicle wire harness are fully connected.
The Front Body Cowl: The headlights, front brush guards, and main body panels remain perfectly aligned and attached.
To compress the vehicle so that it fits into our multi-tiered steel transport frames, we only remove the highest vertical points and protruding rear accessories.

As seen in the factory preparation phase above, the removed components are cleverly packed within the vehicle's own footprint. These include:
The Roof Canopy: The molded plastic top is detached to drastically lower the vehicle's height.
The Vertical Struts: The metal support beams that hold the roof are unbolted.
The Windshield: Removed and packed flat to prevent cracking during transit.
Rear Seating / Utility Bed: Depending on the model, the rear-facing flip seat assembly or cargo box is detached to shorten the vehicle's overall length.

Once internally packed, the entire chassis is heavily wrapped in multi-layer industrial stretch film and anchored immovably into our custom steel transport frame, ensuring absolute safety across the ocean.
Unlike trading companies that randomly disassemble carts just to force them into a box, our SKD protocol is engineered specifically for local dealership efficiency.
100% Bolt-On Assembly: Every component removed is designed to be reattached using standard hand tools. There is absolutely no welding, cutting, or drilling required at your destination.
Zero Electrical Splicing: Because the core wire harness is never cut, reattaching the roof simply involves plugging in quick-connect waterproof couplers for the LED roof lights or soundbars.
Customized Solutions For Any Scenario: Whether your market requires lifted suspensions, specialized cargo boxes, or off-road tire packages, we build customized solutions suitable for any scenario directly into the core build. The SKD teardown does not compromise the integrity of these custom configurations.
Rapid Turnaround: A team of two standard technicians can unbox, bolt together, and perform a final pre-delivery inspection (PDI) on a Keldi SKD buggy in under 40 minutes.

Q: Does shipping via SKD void the factory warranty on the motor or controller?
A: Absolutely not. Because Keldi's SKD process never breaches the sealed electrical components or powertrain, your full factory warranty remains completely intact.
Q: Are instructions provided for the reassembly process?
A: Yes. Every shipment includes comprehensive, visual assembly blueprints and step-by-step video tutorials. Our engineering team is also available for live technical support if your local staff needs guidance.
Q: Will the paint or body panels get scratched when the roof is packed next to the chassis?
A: We utilize a strict multi-layer packaging protocol. Removed components are isolated with thick foam padding, industrial stretch wrap, and secured with tension straps to ensure zero metal-on-metal or plastic-on-plastic friction during ocean transit.
